How quickly have the last three months gone? If you participated in the "90 Days to MCSA" challenge, chances are they've been both very rewarding and a total blur. If you didn't, hurry and sign up for the email series soon so you can catch the last issues, which will also give you access to all previous articles and resources.
This community challenge, originally spearheaded by Microsoft MVP and MCT Michael Bender, invites IT pros to spend the 90 days leading up to TechEd North America studying for the MCSA exams. If you watched the free exam prep videos from Microsoft Learning, you would recognize one of the presenters, Ed Liberman, who's also an MVP and MCT. They'll both be at TechEd NA. Many challenge participant making the trip to New Orleans this week are planning to take one or more exams onsite, where they can take advantage of the 50 percent discount. TechEd NA officially starts on June 3, but the onsite testing center (aka Certification Central) opens on Sunday, June 2. It’s almost go-time!
For those who have participated in (or completed) the challenge, Michael and Ed would love to know: What were the biggest challenges you faced? What are your preferred study methods? Our friends at TrainSignal, who offered access to 10 courses to help you prepare for the MCSA: Windows Server 2012 exams, put together a short survey. It's open from June 1 to June 10, and will take no more than a couple of minutes to complete. One winner will be randomly selected from all survey respondents and receive a one-year subscription to TrainSignal’s entire library of 200+ courses. Three runner-ups will also receive a one-month subscription. Click here to take survey. (The link will take you to a survey by TrainSignal.)
Good luck to everyone who's completing MCSA: Windows Server 2012 at TechEd NA. I'll see you at the convention center very soon!
Note: The survey and prizes listed in this blog post are from TrainSignal, who has offered IT pros complimentary access to select courses to prepare for MCSA: Windows Server 2012.
I met Michael. He greeted on my way in to check-in for certification. Pleasant fellow. I was able to pass and receive my first MCP certification (SQL Server) at TechEd, and it was nerve-wracking, but nonetheless the staff were especially helpful. The prep videos were invaluable as well.
@IncredibleMouse - Congratulations on passing your first Microsoft certification exam! And at TechEd to boot! Now that you're an MCP, be sure to stop by our booth at TechEd NA to get a party pass for Tuesday night. See you soon!
The survey was very superficial, but I guess the questions were related more to what you want to know than to what people might want to say.
...how about terrible. I need to reschedule the exam I am supposed to be taking tomorrow. Prometrics website tells me I've got no exams scheduled. I've called 3 times in the last half an hour. Each time it hangs up on me. I'm in an absolute panic right now since work is preventing me from taking the exam and I don't want a no-show to screw up my Second Shot eligibility. Let me know whatever it is you need to help. I don't even know if you can. I don't even know where else I can call/write for help, hence this post.
Never mind. All is well. I was able to take the exam. And yes, I did pass. Still, Prometric's customer service is awful. I really miss having Vue as a provider.
