Microsoft Learning is the spiritual leader of the learning culture within Microsoft. We are tasked with empowering those who empower the world through learning. Every year, millions of IT professionals, developers, and consumers use our learning products to build their IT skills. The Cloud Productivity team is looking for a skilled and passionate Office 365 IT professional to design, create, and maintain a curriculum path that provides a great learning experience for our customer and partners. We need an experienced and versatile technologist with real-world technical experience in planning, deploying, and maintaining Office 365. This candidate also exhibits a visible passion for training customers and, ideally, has experience as a content developer (training or documentation), technical trainer, or speaker.

This Senior Content Developer will coordinate with the Office product group to ensure that all our learning assets are connected to create a learning path that helps our customers be successful. Strong communication and cross-group collaboration skills are necessary—you’ll be expected to stay plugged into the product teams to keep current on rapid product changes and on the digital transformation of the industry. Based on those changes, you’ll evaluate new features or products and curate existing content assets, create net-new content, and/or update existing content. You’ll manage the content development schedule—from concept and skills analysis all the way through final product release. To keep projects on track and on budget during the content development life cycle, your proven project management skills are essential to this role. We want you to be our authoritative source for Office 365 content. You’ll need to be able to think creatively because we’re working on innovative ways for our customers to access the right learning at the right time with new form factors and delivery technologies.

Primary roles and responsibilities of this position include:

  • Design, author, and publish the highest quality learning experiences for the Office 365 audiences. These include hands-on labs, text, videos, and interactive activities.
  • Work with Microsoft product groups to curate content and to create, refine, and align the learning experience with product cycles.

Necessary knowledge, experience, and abilities include:

  • Deep understanding of and interaction with Office 365 and/or Exchange Online audiences. 
  • Ability to engage students on camera in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong project management, communication, and cross-group collaboration capabilities.
  • A minimum of five years as a practicing IT professional.
  • Evidence of hands-on technical experience with Microsoft technologies. Experience with Office 365 and/or Exchange Online is required.
  • Technical training and/or instructional design knowledge or experience is highly valued.
