They’ve got SQL smarts and the certification to prove it. But do they have what it takes to be the next Microsoft employee?Watch the challenges unfold on our website beginning July 24, 2012: http://aka.ms/bethenext
So it’s the night before our first challenge, and I can’t sleep…I know I’m going to be up all night and only get a good 2 or 3 hours of sleep. Remember that when you see me looking like a zombie in during the first challenge.
The house they have us in is absolutely ridiculous. I think I’ve gotten lost twice now already exploring. I nearly got stuck in the elevator…yeah, that’s right – the elevator. Took it all the way up to the top floor where there’s a viewing deck overlooking Puget Sound. I will have to remember to go up there for sunset.
When I first got here, I wasn’t sure I had the right house. I rang the front door but no one answered…I ended up walking around the house looking for an entrance like a burglar. I guess they didn’t hear me inside…I wouldn’t either the place is so huge. Fortunately, I bumped into the owner who was looking for his lost cat and he let me in. Funny interaction though…”Yeah, uh…I’m here for a MS reality show…no really, I’m not a burglar.”
I still feel like I’m in a twilight zone episode…am I really, actually participating in a reality show? The way I see it though, any amount of personal discomfort will be worth it in the end for a chance at becoming a Microsoft employee.
