Go Team Red! If you're a regular Born to Learn reader, you're probably already familiar with NetHope. If not, then you’re at least familiar with its members: NetHope is an association of 29 of the world's leading international humanitarian organizations working together to solve common technology problems. If you’ve heard of American Red Cross, CARE, WorldVision, and Save the Children, then you’ve heard of NetHope.
NetHope has been around for almot ten years, focusing on improving connectivity between NGOs and their field offices, building IT skills in the field, providing emergency relief services and more. Right now, NetHope is gearing up for a major effort to not only rebuild the Haitian ICT infrastructure, but also to ensure that Haiti has a skilled IT Pro community to maintain and support it. Your support can help the Red Team win the IT Grand Prix and a $10,000 donation to help provide IT Training for Haitian students.
Best of luck to the Red Team--and to their Virtual Pit Crew!
Ken, we need a post on the Born to Learn blog about the race!
Thanks Ken. We at NetHope appreciate your support. NetHope is an intergency collaboration of CIOs, CTOs, IT Directors from the world's largest humanitarian organizations. We tackle IT related problems that are shared by our member organizations. We pool resources, work to solve the problem once and then share the outputs broadly across our membership. Microsoft and Microsoft Learning have been great supporters. see www.nethope.org/haiti to learn more about what we are doing in Haiti.
This is a great and important project. My best wishes....
