If your students love developing, your class won’t want to miss this opportunity! Join thousands of developers, designers and tech enthusiasts, including students and professionals across five continents to build apps for Windows 8. Local WOWZAPP events will be held around the world—and you can even host a WOWZAPP mini-party of your own.

WOWZAPP is your opportunity to be part of the new app revolution and come learn, build and launch Windows Store apps that can help build students’ careers. At the events, students will be provided with the resources they need to build their apps, such as Visual Studio 2012 Express for Windows 8 and a free Windows Store registration code, both available through DreamSpark. In addition, students will be able to test their apps, and developer experts and trainers will be available to answer questions and help participants submit their apps to the Windows Store. WHO: Student Developers. If your students are beginning developers or consider themselves a pro, WOWZAPP 2012 is for all who are interested.

WHAT: WOWZAPP 2012 is a global hackathon for Windows hosted by Microsoft and geared toward Windows Store app development. Developers will be able to code for as little or as long as they want to, learn about the platform’s opportunities by watching guest speakers, attending tutorials and have fun with peers across the globe.
