My college is in the MTA program. They (not sure if it's MSL) of Certiport is 2 months behind with the course material, but the exams are ready. I was told the take the exam, use what I learned in taking the exam to teach my students what to prepare for to take the exam.
Sorry but this is wrong is so many ways I don't know where to begin.
If anyone would like to see the email I received today for Certiport to verify my facts please PM and I will provide.
Bleeping ridiculous
This does seem bizarre and I can bring it up with Certiport/Prodigy/MSL at the upcoming MCT Summit where the MTA program will be a hot topic!

Please do. I've sent an email to Lutz, he's looking into it.
Andrew,
I just took the three IT Pros MTA exams. For what they are, they are not bad.
What should have taken 15 miuntes to get set-up with Certiport to admin the exams took 2 days, several phone calls with Certiport techsupport (who had not been trained in supporting MTA), and my poking around for 4-5 hours.
Turned out they had not released the exams to us, there was a virtual contract we had to assign, and the proctor was not associated with out college/account.
One that was all sorted out everthing else when well.
Hey Doug, Andrew and all MTA Enthusiasts! I want to set the record straight on the reasons why Microsoft and Certiport advise teachers to take MTA exams as a classroom preparation practice. We most certainly are not advocating that they share exam content with their students. That would obviously be unethical as well as squelch all credibility of the credential. I for one love my job and have a vested interest in the success of the product! J We will always advocate, and at times mandate that instructors be certified in a topic that they are teaching. Doing so 1) proves that the instructor actually knows the content they are teaching 2) familiarizes them with the topics they are to be teaching so they can effectively prepare students for a successful exam, and 3) shows leadership by example. I do advise that folks take a few minutes on the Certiport site to review the MTA on-boarding video and the subsequent set up instructions sent to them by Certiport. This will walk you through how to release the exam inventory and correctly set up your proctors once you’ve registered and help facilitate a smooth test center set up experience. I’m happy to announce that the IT Pro Exam Review Kits are still on their original release schedule of September 1st. You can reference my full response on the MTA B2L blog. I’m looking forward to getting your feedback on the IT Pro ERK’s next month! Ciao!

Ciao!
Fellow MCTs. I've taken the 3 IT Pro MTA exams and am impressed. This IS what today's beginning IT student’s need. If you are an academic instructor take a look at the MTA OD and exams. Microsoft did an excellent job of covering a broad spectrum of IT topics at just the right amount of depth for beginning students. Take a look the MTA program, I think you’ll agree.
Glad to know that you're very positive about the MTA exams. I'm sorry about the difficult task that you had with the MTA. We got set up within a couple of hours due to the fabulous help provided by Prodigy!
Wish I had seen your post sooner as we were set up about a week before you were. Let's keep in touch and we can share ideas!
