some details ...
I was invited to take the SharePoint 2010 beta exams and took 71-667 (TS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Configuring) on June 8th. Though I was invited to take 71-668 (PRO: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Administrator) I delayed on registering for the exam and by the time I got around to it registration was closed and I was unable to take it.
On July 10th I received an email from Microsoft congratulating me for earning my "SharePoint 2010, Configuration certification" - I logged into the Prometric website and saw that the 71-667 test that had been marked as "Tested" since June now showed passed. I also checked my MCP transcript and it reflected the test and the certification.
This morning (July 11) I got another email from Microsoft congratulating me for earning my "SharePoint Administrator 2010 certification" - since I never took the exam this doesn't show up anywhere in Prometric. However when I go to the MCP website it does show up in the "Microsoft Certification Status" but does not show up in "Microsoft Certification Exams Completed Successfully" - how is this possible?
Also is there anyway to find out what numeric score I got on the 667 test?: It's not in Prometric anywhere.

Exam 70-667, TS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Configuring is currently not set up correctly in our certification database. Passing exam 70-667: TS: Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Configuring, only completes the requirements for the MCTS: SharePoint 2010, Configuration certification; however, our system is incorrectly also granting the MCITP: SharePoint Administrator 2010 certification. Candidates who pass the 70-667 exam will see both of the certifications on their transcript; however, only the MCTS: SharePoint 2010, Configuration certification is valid. Our system will be corrected in our next certification database update which should be completed in September – at that time the MCITP: SharePoint Administrator 2010 certification will be removed from all candidate’s transcripts who have not earned this certification by fulfilling all of the requirements. Candidate’s interested in earning the MCITP: SharePoint Administrator 2010 certification can find the requirements at: www.microsoft.com/.../cert-sharepoint-server.aspx
Certificates for the MCITP: SharePoint Administrator 2010 certification will not be able for download or purchase until the September timeframe.
Hi Neil - we'll investigate. It's certainly interesting. Can you contact me at erwinc@microsoft.com so we can get some of your personal information to look this up?

Prometric will send you a score report by postal mail, to the adress they have on reccord for you, but it may take a while.
I am only responding to this because the exams are no longer in Beta and the problem still exists.
This issue is still occuring. I took the 667 exam this past Tuesday and I just received yesterday confirmation of my MCITP. To make this more confusing, I will be taking the 668 exam later today. From my understanding the MCITP requires both.
This is very confusing and almost caused me to cancel my test today since I felt maybe one of my previous (2007 or 2003) cert had grandfathered me in. I do currently have the ability to Download and purchase the MCITP: SharePoint 2010 Administration certificate.
Thank you,
Interesting and disappointing the issue is still happening. Erwin did state that the issue would be fixed when they refreshed the database in September. My assumption was that meant they'd be removing the Pro credential from those who have it and haven't taken the 668 yet and that they had fixed the problem for those taking the 667 going forward. Maybe that's not the case?
@ Eric: You may be able to SEE the sharepoint administrator certificate even if you haven't earned it, but you won't be download it. In the next couple of days, you won't be able to see it anymore unless you have earned it.
