Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) seeks a creative, precise computer application developer to assist with development of management information systems to support the University’s accreditation and assessment activities.

About FGCU

Founded in 1991, FGCU is the tenth university in Florida’s State University System and is located in Southwest Florida on 760 acres. FGCU is in its 15th year of operation and is a comprehensive, public, regionally accredited institution (SACS) enrolling approximately 13,000 students in 84 degree programs.

 

The Office of Planning and Institutional Performance (PIP) is the focal point for FGCU’s institutional effectiveness efforts. It gathers, analyzes, and uses data to inform institutional planning and effectiveness processes, policy development, and decision-making; facilitates curriculum development and revision; and supports university-wide strategic planning efforts.  In fostering accountability and excellence, PIP provides guidance and mechanisms for assessment in such areas as educational outcomes, effectiveness in teaching and learning, distance learning and faculty productivity

Role

The Coordinator, Accreditation & Assessment Technology is primary to the success of FGCU’s accreditation and assessment activities and assumes a key role in developing in-house solutions and supporting the technology required to document assessment across the University. Responsibilities include SharePoint team site development; Microsoft Office Development, documentation of procedures and applications; compliance with regulations related to storage of student work and related assessments; and training of faculty and staff in the use of assessment and accreditation documentation tools.

 

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field from an accredited institution and two (2) years of relevant work experience in web application, relational database, and Microsoft (MS) Office development (AJAX, ASP, CSS,VBA, etc.) and must possess Microsoft Developer Certification. Preferred qualifications include a Master's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field from an accredited institution and two (2) years of experience with higher education assessment and accreditation.
