  • Sorry to hear of your bad experience, no one likes failing.

I have taken quite a few certificates and I am quite a bit older than you, so reckon you can do it if I can.

Firstly look at your results and see if there are areas that you are weak in, then concentrate on those.

This as you point out is not a test of your day to day job or whether you are a good programmer but a test of the breadth of the Product.  The practice question results can be misleading as you end up knowing the answers to a particular question but not the whole topic.  Use the Training guide and links to the MSDN (from questions you get wrong or do not really understand from the test, via answer button) .  Do the exercises this helps you retain the information, try and enjoy studying, focus when you are trying to learn something, make sure you understand it not just followed it.

Maybe take the MCPD exam first, I think that experienced developers often find the higher level exam easier as it is more about what you would design or use rather than specific details.

Hope this helps and good luck.

  • Simon. You should be proud of yourself for sharing those brave and honest words. I myself have felt the exact same way after failing the 70-401 3 times. Dont dispair, just get back in there. When you eventually pass that exam (like I did the 4th time) your victory will seem so much sweeter. Remember, when you doubt your powers, you only give power to your doubts.

  • The Career Factor crew has gathered in Atlanta, Georgia and they're already having a great time!

  • I'm not great at making things asthetically appealing.  I wish that I was, because I really do appreciate beauty and niceness and so on.  I'm just not great at making it.

My wedding is June 19 at 6 pm.  My bridesmaids have royal blue dresses, but I'm pretty sure I don't want royal blue table cloths.

I looked into yellow gingham overlays,  but they are too expensive.  Also, I think they might be a little too daytime-ish.
