Clearly I am an incompetent fool who doesn't know what he is doing. Well, that's certainly how I feel right now having flunked my second shot at 70-505, barely improving my previous score despite late nights studying and walking through practise tests. Maybe i'm just too old for the exam lark?
I've posted a video blog post of my immediate reactions here
I'm really trying not to sound arrogant, but there should be no way I am failing this exam if it is considered to be a true reflection of testing a developers skills, experience and knowledge.
As Dan had commented previously, I had 5 or 6 questions where I sat looking at the screen wanting to ask it "What are you asking for here, speak English!" as it was not clear at all.
I probably managed to snatch a fail from the jaws of a pass by doing something I never normally do, review my marked questions and worse still change my initial answers.
I am so not in the right frame of mind to consider wasting more of my own time trying to acquire a certification that I don't believe in. Maybe in a few days I will have calmed down enough to reconsider, but I really don't see what more I can do to prepare for the lottery that seems to be "badly worded questions about the obscurities of c# development primarily based around printing techniques and a deployment mechansim that few people use".
I think my real bitterness comes across in that last paragraph!!
Until next time, this has been /SiD wondering why he is bothering.
Have a 14day cool off and then go with your gut (don't change answers), you are a very experienced developer I'm sure you'll smash it after a short break in the States.
Hi Simon,
I'm sorry to hear that. I had a similar experience.
When I went to the Exam, questions didn’t reflect what was written in Microsoft book and they were irrelevant to the practical life.
It’s not only me but many people speaks about it.
I have 3 opinions on this issue:
1. Microsoft study guide poorly written and not linked to the exam
2. Exam poorly prepared
3. Exam provider wants to make money.
Hazard of multiple choice exams. People complain that braindumpers can get through easily, so they make the exam harder. But since braindumping allows them to pass any multiple choice exam with ease because of the structure of the exam, not the difficulty of the questions, it's honest testers that suffer.
They really need to bring out virtualised testing environments.
The Career Factor crew has gathered in Atlanta, Georgia and they're already having a great time!
hello simon, c unhappy to hear that, I too have the same experience. always after that I decided to go
partir pas cher
on a journey of relaxation.
