Tips to have a great résumé !

AS a senior student, you only think about one thing: am I going to get a job? Am I going to have a good opportunity?

In order to achieve your dreams and get your gold opportunity, you do work hard, get certified…

But if you don’t know how to present this work and keep the attention of employers, all your work goes for nothing Sad

So if you want to apply for a job you would like to make a good impression throw your CV or résumé.

With the career factor cast and some other followers, we had the chance to attend a workshop with Heather Ackmann from Train Signal called “Career Essentials: Writing a Résumé with Word 2010”. If you didn’t have the chance to attend, the workshop was recorded. You can find it here.

Just after hearing Heather remarks and tips, I re-wrote my CV Big Smile

I would like to share with you some of those tips, I ‘am finding most important:

1* There is no such thing as PERFECT résumé.

2*Try to update your résumé from time to time.

4* Small details from previous work experiences might be very important for the position you are applying for, so write them down.

5* ask other people to review your résumé to make sure you didn’t make any typo mistakes (like me Tongue Tied

I would like to thank Heather for taking time and looking to my CV, her remarks helps me a lot to know what to put on my résumé. I guess I have a good one now J

  • You apply for a job that seems absolutely perfect for you. You send your resume with a cover letter to the prospective employer. Plenty of other people think the job sounds great too and apply for the job. A few days later, the employer is staring at a pile of several hundred resumes. Several hundred? you ask. Isn't that an inflated number? Not really. A job offer often attracts between 100 and 1000 resumes these days, so you are facing a great deal of competition.
