Me, Myself and Career Factor !

Hum!! My First Blog post…i should give a good impression!! Should it be very professional?? Or may be funny?? No maybe I just have to be sincere!!

Let me first tell you a little bit about me. I’m Rabeb; Rabeb is an Arabic name referring to an old musical instrument, given to me by my lovely mom. I ‘am a senior computer engineering student.

Being the oldest daughter has made me very close to my parents. I love watching Football (soccer) with dad and shopping with mom. And they have always had such high expectations of me.

So far, my life has been full of wonderful events, great teachers, trustful friends, and loving family members. However , I got engaged and it didn’t work out. But I have been able to decide what to do in my career, what path to choose.

I ‘am not afraid to say it loud: I want to work for Microsoft or at least one of its partners. I will do whatever it takes to achieve my goal.

That’s why I’m so excited about Career Factor. Last few weeks were just crazy: lots of things to be done in short time, things I never did before like professional photo shoot. I felt like a Star Stick out tongue.

Being one of THE NINE as Eddie said is a huge responsibility for me. My family, my friends and Microsoft community in MEA region are all proud and supporting me. And that is only making me work harder and do my best.

My goals are not just personal. It’s true that Career Factor presents a golden opportunity to work on technologies I love and to get visibility about the job I dream of.

Moreover, it’s the perfect opportunity to show the world that Tunisia is a small country that holds a great nation. My country is going through big changes these days. So, my duty is to help build it and show the world that we have innovative people, great minds and brilliant ideas.

As a result, I’m so happy to be part of Career Factor; I think the journey will be amazing. Stay Tuned !!!

  • Microsoft couldn't have foreseen the political upheaval in Tunisia, which piqued my interest in following Rabeb. In a blog post dated today she writes about the important responsibility she feels participating in Career Factor and her family's pride in her. "Moreover, it's the perfect opportunity to show the world that Tunisia is a small country that holds a great nation," she writes. "My country is going through big changes these days. So, my duty is to help build it and show the world that we have innovative people, great minds and brilliant ideas."

Career Factor is an intriguing concept because it's not some amorphous learning or certification site but real people looking to IT learning/training to improve their lives. Microsoft's challenge will be garnering interest in the participants -- or, better, that the self-described reality show goes viral among IT professionals.
