A Successful Reading Week

Spring has finally sprung in Calgary Alberta! I couldn’t be more excited of the fact that I actually got a sun burn on the Easter long weekend. The snow has melted, and although the weather is always a little iffy and cannot be trusted, I am confident that this time the snow is gone for good. <Knock on wood> My classes are officially finished and I write my last of four exams on Friday April 29, 2011! It is hard to believe that graduation day is soon to follow in May. Today (Thursday April 28, 2011) I wrote my Database applications final for my course in Access 2007. I feel extremely confident that I did really well because of all the studying I have been doing for the Access certification exam. After feeling so confident on today’s final I have decided to challenge the certification exam tomorrow. From what I have heard about the Access certification exam from my peers, it is extremely difficult. I would like to challenge the exam not only because I would really like to complete my Master certification, but also because I think that even though I may not pass the first time, I will know exactly what to expect and know what material and resources would be best suited to prepare for the exam. So far in my studies I have found that the Microsoft Office Access 2007 Certification Guide has been a very useful text book. This courseware has very clear examples and instruction that I find very helpful when studying for both my final exam and the certification. My instructors and I are interested in challenging the exam with the knowledge I have just from studying this courseware text book. This will be a good indication for my instructors of how useful this particular text book is in preparing students for the certification exam. (I have agreed to be the guinea pig!) Also, another exciting new development is that I have gotten my agenda for TechEd in Atlanta! I am so excited because it looks as though it is a super jam packed vacation including a trip to see the Braves take on the Phillies, and to Six Flags! I couldn’t be more excited!
