The only positive thing I can say is that soneone must have spent a lot of time working on the visual presentation.  Usability is extremely poor, the worst that I have seen in the 16 years I have been an MCT.  As a first, and completely damning example, I attempted to use the feedback function at the bottom of the page, and after writing a carefully considered evaluation, when I clicked Submit, I got the error that I could only use 256 characters.   While I was trying to condense and rewrite my feedback, the page auto-refreshed, killing my input for the second time.  Clearly, feedback is not something this is desired.

The design appears to be the complete antithesis of what usability research would suggest.  On the MCT page, why have they taken 15 menu items and spread them across a vast screen area in three column?  Even the most rudimentary consideration of eye tracking would tell you that the amount work a user has to put into finding an item has gone up enormously from using a simple menu list.

The new transcript viewer is also worse than useless for me.  In the past, it would not be unusual for me to bring up my transcript on the screen and use the browser's "find" function to verify that I was certified to teach a class.  Now, there no option but to go into the viewer, then download the transcript into another format, e.g. pdf, wherein I can search it.  Even trying to browse through the transcript, it actually timed out as I got to page 4 of 11.

There's some bugs in the site but the usability is so much better. I completely disagree with David. The old site was ugly and out dated and required too many clicks to get what you wanted. Heck I needed to take three clicks to pull up my transcript in order to get my MCP ID#. Once the bugs are settled this is will be so much better.

I like the new membership website.

But when I try to get my transcript I get following error message:

    We are sorry...

An unexpected site error has occured.  The problem has been logged and will be investigated. For additional assistance, please contact your regional MCP Service Center. Thank you for your patience.

    Hi!

Great look. However the integration with the mcpvirtualbusinesscard.com website does not seem to work. When trying to edit my virtual businesscard I receive the folloing message when editing i.e. My identities:

"An unanticipated error has occurred. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later.

    Timestamp: 6/14/2011 6:05:55 AM"

When this is fixed up and running it'll be really useful to have this access from the MCP Member site =)

The view transcript fails in IE9, FireFox3 and Chrome. Also on the home page the recent certification it lists I still need another exam to achieve.

When I download the transcript it does not correctly show my address, it only shows 1 of 3 address fields that I input in my profile. Have had this issue since 2 weeks ago.

The new GUI seems ok. The certification planner does not really help on "planning".

Thank you for your feedback.  We are working with the appropriate stakeholders to address the above mentioned issues with the Transcript tool, Virtual Business Card site , and Logo Builder application.  We appreciate you taking the time to bring this to our attention, and I can assure you that it will be addressed within an appropriate timeframe.

    - thanks.

The link that takes me from here to the MCT site on BTL returns a "Group Not Found" error.  This has locked me out of the MCT forums and wikis completely.

@Mark - Me, too.  I have been locked out of the MCT site for the past 3 days.  Approximately exactly when the new site went live.  Oh well...

The new MCP page is a bit busy buit an improvement on the old one,  if it worked properly.

On the 14-06 I passed 70-685 PRO: Windows 7, Enterprise Desktop Support Technician.

Today the new MCP site has this listed in the My Certicications area. When I viewed my transcript the 685 is in the exams completed successfully section, but not in the Active Certifications area, In Certificates/Logos pages the 685 is not available for download/purchase even though my transcript states I have passed the 685.

Another 'minor' point, in the Certification Planner listing of certifications I can take, the Enterprise Desktop Support Technician is listed, but when I click on it , I can see that I have passed the 685.

Was the new system not tested before deployment? Any news on the Wallet Cards?

The certification planner has always been a bit wonky.  Right now it only lists the MCM certs for Exchange and Lync.
