Last week, we offered up a sneak peek of the latest promotion Microsoft Learning has put together. Today, I'm happy to share a few more details. Here’s how it works:
To take advantage of this offer, Learning Partners need to visit the campaigns section of Campaign Factory, which provides further instructions on the ordering process as well as other terms & conditions. As for Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs) listening in, we hear you! You asked if you could get access to the Kindle optimized courseware too and, for the duration of this promotion, we will make an MCT version of this Kindle-formmatted courseware available to you on the MCT Download Center within the next few weeks.
This promotion enables Microsoft Learning to pilot a unique way to drive students into Learning Partners’ classrooms. This promotion is designed also to facilitate the adoption of dMOC. Some of Microsoft Learning’s most popular 5-day IT Pro titles will be made available as part of this offer, beginning with the following titles:
If the initial promotion is successful, then in the July/August timeframe, the following courses will be added to the list:
As always, if you have any questions or comments, feel free to leave feedback in the comments section below.
I would love to get course 10174 and the kindle. How can MCT's get them...are there discounts?
Hi Jennifer,
The promotion itself is designed for students, as it included the course, a certification voucher, and a Kindle. However, as an MCT you can take advantage of it in two ways: you can either work with your Learning Partner to order you a 10174 package, if you're willing to pay for the included cert voucher and course. Or, if you already have a Kindle, as an MCT, we will soon be making 10174 available to you on the MCT Download Center.
What about the UK Partners - Yet again :(
Kindle version will be available to MCTs worldwide or only US based?
If we don't have a Learning Partner, can we buy these bundles directly from Microsoft?
Very nice idea, very bad and poor implementation. There is no reason for this to be US only .. as again US MSL and the rest of the world :(
Bring it on. Students here in the UK are loving the idea, and are waiting for you...
As an MCT, I shall be watching the d/l site with interest.
We will work to make the dMOC Kindle files available to MCTs worldwide even if the overall promotion is only available in the US. Stay tuned! Also, to clarify, this promotion is only available exclusively through Microsoft Learning Partners.
Hi Bob, for readiness usage by MCTs this is a great opportunity - please expediate the mobi files for MCTs in the private d/l center.
just did a straw poll, and *all* my class would prefer this to printed MOC.
2nd class running, same result.
internationalise please! student demand is there
Bob
We are a Gold Partner with you. Can clients use SATV's for this promo?
Bob,
> Or, if you already have a Kindle, as an MCT, we will soon be making 10174 available to you on the MCT Download Center.
I will be delivering 10174 in a week and we will be using the Kindle promotion. Any update on the MOBI files? I own a Kindle and really would like to know about the student experience before the start of the class.
Mike Smith
The MCT "curmudgeon"
Any word on when this will be available. I'm delivering 10174 on Monday and still have no idea what the student experience will be with 10174 on a Kindle. How well is it formatted for the small screen? Can they read it, take paper notes, do the labs all at once?
As I don't know, I've downloaded the Kindle Windows viewer application so they can at least see the pages full size.
I have no idea how delivery will go as I don't think I can refer the students to the content by page number. So instead of "go to page 32", do I now have to say "do a Kindle search on 'abcdefg' and let me know if and when you find it"???
*GREAT* concept here! As a certified Kindle Nut, I'm a big fan of MOC content in MOBI format. Mike Smith's question above struck a chord with me/ I'd be interested in hearing from any MCTs who have successfully delivered training using the Kindle versus the conventional printed MOC course book, along with their experiences - good, bad or otherwise using the Kindle in a training situation.
beatyfull!!!... But WHEN in Europe?
