MSL FAST University offers SharePoint Server 2010 specialty training in developing search applications. The training covers a variety of Enterprise Search topics:

  • Content Crawling: Search Architecture, Content Sources, and Crawling Content
  • Configuring Search Sites: Keyword Syntax, Search Sites, and Search Web Parts.
  • Configuring Federation: Federated Web Parts, and New Federated Sources
  • Scopes and Managed Metadata: Search Scopes, Developer Dashboard, and Managed Metadata.
  • Linguistics: Noise Words, Thesaurus, Custom Dictionaries, Query Suggestions, Nicknames, and Phonetic Search.
  • Federated Object Model: Federated and Query Object Models in Search Web Parts
  • Custom Search Applications: Query Web Service Applications
  • Extending Connectors: External Content Types in SharePoint Designer
  • Custom Connectors: Business Connectivity Services, and .NET Assembly Connectors in Visual Studio 2010
