Enhanced and Returning MCP/MCT Benefits

If you receive our MCP Daily Flash, you’ve seen in the announcement about some new and updated MCP Benefits. If you receive the weekly or monthly editions, here’s what you have to look forward to:

  • MCP and MCT Member Sites: Look for a new site to launch later this year—we’re hard at work improving, simplifying, and polishing the site, and we think you’ll find it significantly easier to use and a lot more useful as well. Also coming soon: an updated Certification Planner tool
  • Wallet Cards: By popular demand, they are coming back—and soon! Beginning April 4, 2011, you’ll be able to order your wallet card (complete with uploadable photo and Microsoft Tag). Similar to our certificates, there will be an ordering fee for the wallet cards.
  • Virtual Business Cards: Also on April 4th—VBCs get a facelift, with a new UI, new themes and avatars, and Microsoft Tag integration.
  • MCP/MCT eStore: A long overdue revamp is coming—including new items and lower international shipping rates. We’ll be rolling out the store region by region as our fulfillment vendors ramp up—the Americas will be first out of the gate, followed by Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and then Asia Pacific.

More information to come next month—in the meantime, we’d love to hear your feedback below!

  • At last, walletcards coming back.

Also great to read that the eStore international shipping fees are being tackled. Again YES!!!

Great job and i'll be waiting for the updates....

  • I definitely like the idea for the wallet cards - it -is- something I'd be willing to pay for.  I wasn't ever really too thrilled with the virtual card concept.

  • Yay for wallet card's return!!

  • Cant wait for all of this to come live.

  • Great news comin' our way! Love the wallet cards, and the lower shipping rates for the MCP Shop.

  • Hey Ken, could you get the eStore people to offer this MCT's dream gadget: www.victorinox.com/.../4.6078.TG32F Fingerprint-protected, Bluetooth PowerPoint remote, 32GB, etc... I would love to see it in Blue (or is it green, now) with the MCT logo...

  • The only thing you need to fix is the Live ID login.

Every time I go to the MCP site, get sent to the "you need to sign in to this site" (even though I'm already signed in with Live ID on other sites).

I then have to click on the 'sign out' button, then go back to the MCP site and then click on sign in.

Really annoying! It's enough to put me off wanting to go to the website.

Fix that and your job is done. though it shouldn't have been left like that for years anyway.

  • I'm glad that the wallet cards are coming back. My original one (from '98) finally disintegrated so I had to take it out this winter.

  • Hurrah for the return of the wallet cards. Also pleased to see those insane freight charges are going to be a thing of the past. It's about time.............

  • Bringing back wallet cards? Good job.

The wallet cards combined with the virtual business cards will be great for marketing our hard earned credentials.

  • I understand there is a new site coming, but shouldn't the "congratulations email" like the one I got today for passing an exam point to the Born To Learn blogs instead of blogs.technet.com/mslcommunity ??

  • Glad to hear that we'll see high shipping costs addressed... but now that I have a drop box just over the US border I doubt it will be less expensive to get to Canada anyways...

  • Great news.

  • well this shall be interesting. i look forward to being able to order one.

  • "I must have missed the memo"... (better check the Org chart to see if my name has been removed).  Great to see wallet cards are  back, I never knew they were removed. My certification upgrade was to MCITP a couple of years ago. So I was not really looking for a new card. I still keep my old cards (collection of cards and lapel pins). They are shiney ;) ... nice to look at!
