Better times ahead: IT Hiring Predicted to Rise in 2011

Some hopeful news just published over at Dice.com. Among the conclusions based on feedback from almost 850 hiring managers and tech recruiters:

  • 60% expect to do more hiring in the next six months than in the past six months
  • 15% expect to increase hiring by 21 to 30 percent
  • Mobile app developers and specialists in cloud computing and virtualization are in high demans
  • Job postings at dice.com are up 38% over last year.

  • Thanks Ken, I really needed to read some good news this morning and this is just the ticket. Lets hope the Irish and other employment markets start to reflect the US trend for a more prosperous 2011 for all.

    With the recent re branding of the MOS (Office) certification, please can you share some statistics on the MOS certification program and how they are viewed from employers/recruiters?

    I am actively trying to promote MOS 2007 (and 2010) but I find that awareness is minuscule and traction is poor with feedback on the e-learning (2007) content poor.  

    What can you share, and do you have any facts/figures about increased employability once gaining the MOS?
