Raised in Chicago, in what he calls a ghetto, Adrian Mercado, felt everything was hard. His grades at George Washington High School in the southeast side of Chicago were C's, D's, and an occasional F.
He caught a lucky break. A "go-hard teacher" who according to Mercado encouraged students to "go-hard or go-home." When she challenged Mercado to take an Office certification, he decided to give it a try, not only getting a high score, but changing his attitude about studying hard and getting good grades.
