Calling all Silverlight experts--Update your SME profile now!

Do you have work experience with developing applications for Silverlight? Want to help us create the first Silverlight exam? Here’s your chance! We are looking for Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for the following exam:

  • 70-506    TS: Silverlight 4, Development

We’ll be using the MSL SME database to find participants for blueprinting as well as other phases of development for this exam. For your best chance of participating, create a SME profile by filling out the survey on the MSL SME site on Microsoft Connect. (See this post for complete instructions.)

Please note that if you already filled out your SME profile, you’ll need to go back and update it. I changed the answer options for “Which technologies do you have work experience with?” to include Silverlight. We’ll be looking for folks who select Silverlight on this question to help develop these exams. If you filled out your SME profile awhile ago, this option was not available for you to select.

  • Hi,

It's good news! But I've filled my SME profile awhile ago why I can't  take a part? Should I create a new profile?

  • One more question.

Where can I fill information that I'm Silverlight developer?

  • Hello Serhii,

Please go back to the survey on the Microsoft Connect site (connect.microsoft.com/.../Surveys), sign in with your Windows Live ID, click Edit next to the survey link, and scroll down to question # 4, and check the box for Silverlight. If you click the View link, you won't be able to change your responses. Let me know if that doesn't work for you.

    Thanks!

    Krista

  • Hi Krista,

    It is work for me.

    Thanks!

  • Is it again sleepless dog-and-cat chasing game for a few hours registration opening?

    What are the starting/ending dates?

I have experience and interest but with current practice of stealthy evasive announcements I even cannot understand if I am interested to burn my time for SME profile updating

  • Hello vgv8,

We are only just starting on this exam. This announcement was to help us find SMEs for the beginning of exam development--specifically, defining the objectives to cover on the exam and for weighting the objectives (aka blueprinting). The reason that we don't advertise the full exam development schedule on Born to Learn is that it is still in flux. We aren't trying to be stealthy or evasive, we just don't want to give out dates until we are reasonably certain we will be able to meet them. During the design phase, the dates are still way to squishy to be worth much to you.

That said, if you're only in it for the free beta exam, you can check back in late September/early October, when we should have a better idea of the beta schedule. On the other hand, if you update your SME profile now and indicate your experience with Silverlight in your survey responses, you could be contacted about other opportunities in addition to the beta, such as item writing or technical review.

If you had a specific instance where you expected to receive a notification but you didn't, contact us at mslcd@microsoft.com and we'll investigate what happened.

    Thanks

  • Hi Robert,

Your timing is impeccable. Look for more news about the Silverlight beta exam here later today. Make sure you get your SME profile updated to include your work experience with Silverlight.

I am so glad to hear that I've made your career better! It's that kind of comment that makes me excited to come to work every day.

  • Awesome! Signed up and looking forward to hearing more about a Silverlight certification exam. Been working on this stuff for over two years now... :)
