Windows 7 and Office 2010 TS Exam: Beta Coming Soon!

We’ll be opening registration for the following beta exam soon:

  • 70-681    TS: Windows® 7 and Office 2010, Deploying

As with every beta exam, seats are limited. We’ll be using our MSL SME database to recruit for the first round of beta participants. For your best chance of participating, create a SME profile by filling out the survey on the MSL SME site on Microsoft Connect. (See this post for more information.) If you have already created your SME profile, make sure that you update it to reflect your interest in taking a beta exam and your experience with Windows 7 and Office 2010.

A few days before registration opens, we’ll send a notification to qualified SMEs through Connect. The notification will include the beta code. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail mslcd@microsoft.com.

  • I have already created a profile at Microsoft Connect, but with the new dashboard I am confused.  Could you direct me how to get to my SME profile?

  • Found it!  I found it in a roundabout way, though... is there a better way to get here?

I clicked on "Preview the new Connect dashboard".  Then I clicked on a drop-down box in the top right above the search box.  The drop-down box reads "Go directly to a Product Home Page".  I selected "MSL Subject Matter Experts".

  • I hope the best :-)

but: there was no link to the profile on http://connect.microsoft.com/

I found it later using google: connect.microsoft.com/site862 (you have to be signed before opening the website)

  • Looks like they have changed the Connect home page interface since I wrote the Rhymes with Sneeze post. So sorry! You can get directly to the page this way: connect.microsoft.com/site862.

  • Is it a bit too geeky to say 'I'm looking forward to this one'?  Have the emails gone out yet?  My SME profile includes Office and Windows 7, but I've not seen anything yet.

  • Hi Michael! Not too geeky at all. : ) E-mails have not yet gone out; expect to see them in the next week or two.

  • Excellent.  Probably a good idea to leave them until Second Shot expires.  My local test centre is booked up solid with people using the vouchers before they expire, so much so they've staffed additional days for testing.

  • Have emails gone out?

  • Hi Bill! They have. Give me a ping at amandaw@microsoft.com and I'll send you the Beta information (including the promo code) straight away. Amanda
