We’ll be opening registration for the following beta exams soon:
As with every beta exam, seats are limited. We’ll be using our MSL SME database to recruit for the first round of beta participants. For your best chance of participating, create a SME profile by filling out the survey on the MSL SME site on Microsoft Connect. (See this post for more information.) If you have already created your SME profile, make sure that you update it to reflect your interest in taking a beta exam and your experience with SharePoint Server 2010.
A few days before registration opens, we’ll send a notification to qualified SMEs through Connect. The notification will include the beta code. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail mslcd@microsoft.com.
Have these gone out yet? I just noticed I only had MOSS and not SharePoint Server 2010 selected in my profile. I've updated, but I'm worried I missed out on the invite process.
You have not missed them yet.
Look for the invites to be coming soon.

Hello SME friends,
Registration for this beta opened less than 30 minutes ago. I was literally in the middle of writing this comment to ask if anyone had been successful registering, when I heard from Patrick that he could not get through on the Web site.
For those of you outside North America, sorry I didn't include the link to the telephone numbers for Prometric in your region:
Europe, Middle East, and Africa: prometric.com/.../EMEAIT.htm
Asia Pacific: prometric.com/.../APACIT.htm
If you have successfully registered, kindly contact me at mslcd@microsoft.com to confirm, or post a comment here.
If you didn't receive a notification and think that you should have, contact me at mslcd@microsoft.com.
Thanks.
Krista
Update: heard back from Patrick and he was able to register. Yay!
I tried for 3 hours last night. 12:00-3:00 AM couldnt register. IE was timing out after entering promo code, with a page not displayed. Firefox would just send me back to the confirmation and code page with no discount.
I tried for about a half hour, 6-6:30 AM nothing. I tried again at 7:15 same results.
7:20 successful registration.
Just a thought:
Maybe Prometric should upgrade their servers to Windows 2008 R2 so they can handle the loads
Perhaps ASP.net instead of ASP would be a start.
Hello,
Had 0 problems registering (took all recent bumpy rides;) this time!
1.Wake up alarm: t - 5 min.
2. @ Prometric exam selection: t + 1 min (refresh)
3. Registered to both exams 5-10 minutes later (including time for some documentation - personal use)!
Btw, any news about the preparation guide that was mentioned?
"**Please note that the preparation guide for 71-668 will be available on or around May 12th."
Thanks!
PS. Did not manage to get back to sleep though ;) Please note that confirmation email arrived 30 minutes later (just one, although registered both - exams listed as pending, so no worries I guess).
Hello again SME friends,
I am discovering that SharePoint is a technology that blurs the IT Pro/Developer lines. I significant number of people who self-identified as Developers are contacting me about getting the IT Pro notifications, and vice versa.
I asked Gerry and he guesstimated that 50% of SharePoint folks may wear both the Developer and IT Pro hats.
In celebration of this multi-hatness, I'm going to send the IT Pro notification to the folks who identified themselves as developers, and the Developer notification to the folks who identified themselves as IT Pros.
Short version: if you got one SharePoint notification before, look for another one in the same place sometime today.
Maybe we should look at having an uber-SharePoint certification for the two-hatters?
As of this morning, 667 and 668 are full. Still space in the developer ones, though: 573 and 576.
You've just completed one of the SharePoint beta exams . The beta comment period begins. Before you
Any idea when the results will be sent for beta exams?
Results for beta exams can take up to 8 weeks after the beta exam ends. You should see results in your inbox by the time the exams go live. Likely in the next week or so.
Gerry
I have to say thank you for all the effort preparing such good exams. Compared to SharePoint 2007 I think the questions are really based on experience. I was able to complete the 70-667 with my 2 years experience. I'm looking forward to take the 70-668...
