Can you tell me if there will be an MCTIP for Virtualization stutus in a near future and maybe a master degree also?
Btw, I have a Softgrid Admin certification that I obtained before Mirosoft bought the company.
Can I use this somewhere in a track?
Thanks
Daniel - There is an MCITP for Virtualization already. Take a look at www.microsoft.com/.../exam.aspx. You need exams 70-659, 70-669 and 70-693. Holding all three of these will give you the MCITP: Virtualization Administrator credential.
Amanda - A few weeks ago Krista mentioned that it would be possible to use 70-652 as a substitute for 70-659. Could you confirm whether this is the case?
This was the original post:

Hopefully I'm not violating any NDAs by saying this (hah!), but the exam was easy. Too easy. I expected it to be much harder because it covers VDI, App-V, MED-V, RDS, Virtual PC, and XP Mode. But I passed it with relatively little prep.
@ Daniel from Belgium, there is the "MCITP: Windows Virtualization, 2008 R2" certification. No word on an MCM program. I think virtualization in general needs to be a little more widely used and mature before they would consider and MCM for it.
@OtherKevin, yeah that one was easy but 693 wasn't maybe they have lowered hardness of exam after seeing 693 results? :)
i hope 70-652 can be used to as i already have it, and it was much easier ;-)
I found it exactly the opposite, passed 693, but failed on 669. Unfortunateliy I didn't get the test-results from prometric yet, so I don't know which part I failed. Why can't they simply send them by email, they've got my emailaddress and all.
Prometric is still not listing 70-669 in the exam selection list. When will it be available? Is there some delay?
Can anyone (with 70-659; 70-669 and 70-693 passed) please confirm that the MCITP:Virtualization Admin credential is in fact listed on their transcript?
I have passed 70-652 (not 70-659), 70-669 and 70-693 and all of these are now in fact live -- no MCITP:VA on the trancript though (yet?)..
It is on my transcript. However, the MCITP:Virtualization Administrator 2008 R2 credential did not show up until a day or two AFTER I received confirmation that I had passed the 71-669 AND earned the MCTS: Windows Server 2008 R2, Client Virtualization credential.
if you just got your 71-669 notification then wait a couple of days before emailing MCPHelp.
@OtherKevin: Do you have Charter Member status for every Virtualization exam?
@OtherKevin: Is it listed under both:
1. Microsoft Certification Status
Credential Certification / Version Date Achieved
Microsoft Certified IT Professional
and:
2. Microsoft Certification Exams Completed Successfully
Exam ID Description Date Completed
693 PRO: Windows Server 2008 R2, Virtualization Administrator
?
Got the notificaton weeks ago and even emailed MCPHelp some days later - still nothing under Credential status though.
Hi All!
RE: 652 - Checking w/Krista right now. RE: 669 - I was able to find it on the Prometric site. Kurt, are you still having issues finding it?
Amanda
Hi Amanda,
I still have the same problem as Kurt at the time of writing:
70-669 is not available from the Prometric booking facility.
There's 74-669 instead, but correct me if I'm wrong I believe this has only superseded 71-669 as a beta exam.
I contacted Prometric to find out but I'm still waiting for an answer...
Any update on your side?
Thanks,
Sebastien
Hi All,
74-669 is correct. It's the full exam, not a Beta. So register away! And still checking on 652 for you.
