It has been a hectic morning for us... Deep apologies on the access issue on the Learning Rewards website.  We planned for the server to be able to handle 1,000 queries per minute, but it seems that it's taking longer as the server validates MCP ID from the database.Sad  We are working to add more server capacity to ease the burden.  Please check updates on this post.

Also, we know that many of you are disappointed that after receinving your invite, you didn't get an exclusive window to join, and we agree--we'll do that next time.

However, in essence, that's probably what's happening for the most part, since we believe that there is high overlap between the invited audience and born to learn readers. Nevertheless, we'll make sure we separate invite waves next time.

  • Server Error in '/' Application.  The URL it's trying to reach is /btl/b/weblog/archive/2010/04/19/encouraging-others-to-get-certified-join-mcp-rewards.aspx.

  • Joanne, you need to remove the full stop from the end of your link.

    You need

    borntolearn.mslearn.net/.../encouraging-others-to-get-certified-join-mcp-rewards.aspx

    and not

    borntolearn.mslearn.net/.../encouraging-others-to-get-certified-join-mcp-rewards.aspx.

    :)

  • Thanks for the reminder Neil.  I blame ctrl c + ctrl v on this...

    Link is fixed.

  • Despite of all the troubles, whe can all learn from this. I was a bit frustrated in the beginning, but these are things that might occur anywhere when you least (want) expect it.

Anyway the communication about all the problems is good, and I know you are all giving sweat blood and tears!

Therefore: you at @mslearning are all still great!

  • I trying to sign up but I am receiving a 'You are not Authorized' error at the bottom of the registration page when I submit it. Can you please advise why I am not authorized? I received an invite via email, i did not find out via born to learn or other blogs.

    Thanks,

    Tyler

  • Tyler, as per Joanne link, email lrfeedb@microsoft.com.if you are having this issue.

  • @ckleijne: The problem is that MSL has "learning" in name but doesn't learn anything it is not their first failure like this. Same problems are with every BETA exam,  invitations leaks, Prometric site, MCPs sites, Prometric score reports, charter member status and many more.

    MSL means MS LOL

  • @ckleijne - thanks for the kind words.  When things don't work out, it upsets me deeply as well.  And we have definitely learned some lessons from it.

I want to express my thanks to this community that sticks this out with us and always be so kind to let us know what you think. :) please continue to give the feedback - I do personally respond to all of the emails we receive.  You guys can help us shape this rewards program to be valuable for the community.

    More work ahead~~

    Joanne

  • Luckily I was able to join the website yesterday. But I´m not able to enroll the second shot campaign. Every time I click on enroll I´ll be send back to the homepage saying I´m not enrolled in any program. Is only the second shot campaign limited to 10.000 new users or is the website login limited?

If it´s the last one: Please fix it ;-)

    Thomas

  • I'm not only disappointed due to the long reg time, I'm also dissappointed, 'cause only second shot vouchers can be fetched. What's the point then?

  • very very disappointed :(

  • What ever happened to the classic movie guessing game? Ken still hasnt gotten back to me. Did he take time away to set up the website for rewards that doesnt work? lol

  • @Thomas W: That's very strange - I have sent this to our support team to look at.

@varanusz: The program is designed to reward you when you encourage others to become certified.  There may be special offers from time to time, but at the moment, it's 2nd shot.  I think the value lies in that you are rewarded when encouraging others to earn their certifications.

  • @jhelton: Movie trivia results are on my calendar for Monday--my Haiti trip (trip report also to come by Monday) led directly to me getting sick and a full week of quarterly business review meetings, so my blog time has been zero for the past two weeks (in fact, my online time of any type has been next to nil).

Sorry for the delay on that one, but I will indeed have the winner announced and the prize on its way on Monday (if not sooner).
