Recruiting Beta Candidates for Exam 71-669!

Julie Devine (Microsoft)

Are you a desktop virtualization subject matter expert? We’ve got the beta exam for you!

71-669 TS: Windows Server® 2008 R2, Desktop Virtualization
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/exam.aspx?ID=70-669&Locale=en-us

As with every beta exam, seats are limited. We’ll be using our MSL SME database to recruit for the first round of beta participants. For your best chance of participating, create a SME profile by filling out the survey on the MSL SME site on Microsoft Connect http://connect.microsoft.com/site862. If you have already created your SME profile, make sure that you update it to reflect your interest in taking a beta exam and your experience with virtualization technologies.

Since there is already a MCTS on server virtualization, can we assume this test is around VDI?

Since they posted the reminder to update your SME profile they're probably pretty close.

In the meantime, I'm still waiting on the results for 71-693. I've never waited so long for a beta result, and I took it on the last day it was available. I know that there were a lot of bad questions on the exam, but you'd think they could have gotten it sorted by now.

    Hi,

why is this not on http://blogs.technet.com/betaexams/? For me, this used to be the one place to look for all beta exams.

    Regards,

Exam registration isn't open yet, so it's not posted. Of course, the last two beta exams on virtualization never got posted there at all. Those were 71-659 and 71-693. I'm guessing that they're only posting them to the beta exam blog when there are seats available, and there's so much demand from the SMEs that the seats are being filled within an hour or two of registration opening that they haven't had to open it to the public.

On top of that, a LOT of MCPs and MCTs were getting upset that we weren't getting first crack at registering for the beta exams because the registration codes were being posted publicly. If you are interested in doing a beta exam update your SME profile so that you can get emailed an invitation with the registration code in advance.

    Hi Kevin,

I think it's a good idea to first invite SMEs, MCTs and so on. I'd just like to see information like "update your SME profile because there will be invitations soon" on the betaexams blog as well, as this used to be the #1 source for beta exam related information.
