  • Just got the email from Prometric notifying me of this offer. I'm glad to see it is back again. I've got at least 4 more exams I wanted to cover in the first half of the year, and this just adds to the motivation.
  • Great! Now I'm glad I postponed some exams for this year!
  • What's the discount rate in Australia for students? Is it 55% or just 20%?
  • Your links for registration are broken.
  • Thank you for Second Shot!
  • Hi all, I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the links, I tested them and they should work though. Please try again or try the below:

    Students register here: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/offers/...

    Professionals register here: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/offers/...

Please let me know if this works for you, we want you to enjoy the offers!
  • 2nd shot is listed on the "professional register here" page listed above, but when you click on second shot it brings you to http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/offers/... and currently (12:30PM EST) there is nothing about second shot on that particular page.
  • I am curious as to what constitues a valid student ID. Could this be an ID from a CPLS long term student program? What about on line students who do not have a physical ID card? is it just 4 year colleges or can it be a technical certificatoin program? What about high school students whose high schools don't use IDs?
I have students who are asking me these things and I can't find the information on your website or prometrics.
  • Hi bday, I'm still looking into this as I do see a full website on that link, right now I don't know why you do not but we will fix this. Meanwhile, to register for a second shot, try this link http://www.prometric.com/microsoft/ss_mcp.htm.
I think you were trying this link http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/offers/..., please can you try this link again and let me know if it now works for you? thanks!!
  • Looks to be working now! :) The pages must not have finished seeding entirely.
  • Hi Bill! Students must have a valid school ID card (issued by an accredited institution) or a current transcript or valid current receipt of tuition payment in order to get the student price and the Second Shot. One of those documents and a picture ID (drivers license for example) will be required by the Prometric Testing Center.
  • So I am still looking to see what acreditation you are accepting, there are multiple levels out there. Also if someone is not attending an acredited school but still is a student, such as a high school can they qualify? And for those who are too young to qualify for drivers license?
What defines a valid current receipt? I could have paid my years tuition in August, would that still be considered validy by a Prometric testing center in May? What are the definitions that they are using to validate against? Are those definitions spelled out online or in print? How can we help our students prepare for the taking of an exams and the using of Second shot if the information is not there. I did read all the FAQ's and the current information made available via both the MSL and Prometric sites and do not see this spelled out in clear language anywhere. Can you point me to a resource that will clarify it?
  • The student pricing rate for Australia is 53% of the commercial price, that is, your cost for a student exam will be 85 AUD. The global promotion is worded "UP TO 55%" because the pricing and exchange rates vary so much globally. Hope that answers your question.
