Digital MOC Just Got Better

Rate This

Three months ago, Microsoft released digitally 71 of its most popular Microsoft Official Courses (MOC). Since that time, we ve received a lot of great feedback and have been working around the clock to make improvements to the digital MOC experience. Today I m happy to announce that digital MOC just got better. You asked, and we listened.

Digital MOC now includes:

Enhanced Bookmarks & Browsing: new expandable/collapsible bookmarks allow you to jump to any of the key sections in the book. Every module and then even lessons in modules are clearly labeled and hyperlinked and take you right to those sections when you click on them.

Enhanced Note Taking & Markup Tools: fast and easy ways to take notes right inside your digital materials before, during, and after class using features such as:

  • Sticky notes
  • Text edits
  • Highlighting
  • Callout notes
  • Freeform drawing
Notes Tracking: no more hassle trying to remember/label pages you’ve taken notes on. All your notes are automatically indexed and organized by page and date, giving you the ability to jump to any page with notes, sort notes by date or page, edit any notes at any time, and see all notes in one place.

Searchability: quickly find answers and topics of interest through a full text search. All notes are fully searchable and notes or markups visible on the page can automatically be included in any print outs.

Over 40 digital MOC titles have these features as of today: 2780B, 6158C, 6419A, 6420A, 2779B, 6435A, 6436A, 6437A, 6292A, 6428A, 6422A, 6423A, 6421A, 6425B (new to digital!), 6231A, 6430B (new to digital!), 2778A, 6232A, 6234A, 6235A, 5047B, 6236A, 6424A, 6427A, 2310C (new to digital!), 6426B (new to digital!), 5060A, 5061A, 6417B, 6418B, 6446A, 6461A, 6434A, 6460A, 6463A, 6462A, 6464A, 5051A, 4994A (new to digital!), 4995A (new to digital!), and 5050A.

All digital MOC titles (the other 30+ titles included in the list here) will have these features enabled no later than February 9, 2010.

If you are a CPLS, login to the Courseware Library to get immediate access. If you are a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), visit the MCT Download Center and all materials available for the titles listed above will have these features included. And last, but not least, if you are someone interested in taking one of these courses, check out this nifty class locator tool.

If you re wondering how these new features work, see this YouTube video for a six minute demonstration. If you d prefer the HD version of this demo, you can download it here in MP4 format (right click, "Save Target As..."). You re welcome to distribute either version freely.

Feedback is, of course, appreciated. We hope you like these new enhancements! And if you have more to say on the topic of going digital with your training needs, feel free to leave us a comment below.
