Fire Side Chats

Rate This

I’d like to point out a series of ‘Fire Side Chats’ that we recently started. These are a series of Live Meeting sessions where senior Microsoft executives talk about the areas they are working on and where you get the opportunity to pose questions to them. You can pre-submit your questions when you register or ask them live during the chat. The chats are specifically designed with the user group leader and members in mind, together with other technical community experts. Each is an hour in length, repeated at different times of day so you don’t need to attend at 3:00am just because you don t happen to live in Redmond. Upcoming events include Microsoft executives from Windows, Office, Developer Tools, Exchange/OCS, Microsoft Research, Microsoft IT and more. In addition, we d love to hear from you with suggestions as to who you would to hear from.

HOW TO JOIN: If you would like to register for any fire side chat, please go to http://ug.gitca.org/sites/FireSideChats and click on the register link. You can also find the up to date list of Fire Side Chats at the site, as well as a link to a survey so you can give us feedback.

Here are the Fire Side Chats we have scheduled for the remainder of 2009: -

Dec 1st
Cloud side chat: Microsoft Online Services and the evolving world of software + services

  • Can these "fire side chats" be downloaded? I'm interested in Dec 10th, but don't think I can get away from work for this.
  • Hi Chanta,

Yes, if you register for the event, we'll send you a link to the recording later on!
  • Thanks! I think I'm registered. It didn't really indicate whether I successfully registered or not ...
  • Hey Tjeerd,

On the Fire Side Chat site, it informs "Fire Side Chat attendees: Fire Side Chats designed for Culminis, INETA, PASS and UGSS registered user group leaders, together with other technical experts."

To be an attendee, do I have to be a Culminis, INETA, PASS, or UGSS member or group leader? Gosh, maybe I misunderstood who could attend, I thought it was open to the public. Our company is potentially going to Office 2010, thus the high interest in the Dec10th chat.
  • Hi Chanta, are you an MCT? There should be a field for MCTs too, and we also plan a Third Thursday session (2 hours livemeeting) on Office 2010 next Thursday.
  • Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT)? No unfortunately. I am MCP/MCTS if that will suffice. If not, can we at least still download the chat?
  • Hi Chanta, I have followed up with the organizers and will let you know asap!
  • You're the best. Thank you!
  • Hi Chanta, I just heard back and YES, we will gladly welcome you at the chats as well as let you download the sessions.

If you missed the session, you should see a link to the live meeting in the meeting details a few days after the chat.... http://chats.msugss.com.
  • Thank you Tjeerd!
