“MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7”, “MCITP: Desktop Administrator 7”—What gives?

Rate This

Those of you who took the beta version of Exam 70-686 should be starting to get your results back. We just discovered that the title as it appears on the certificate is missing the word “Enterprise,” so it reads “MCITP: Desktop Administrator 7.” The title appears correctly on the transcript as “MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Administrator 7”—it’s only the certificate where the word “Enterprise” is missing.

We’ve requested an update to add the word, but unfortunately these things take time. We don’t know for sure yet when the change will be effective, but we’ll be sure to post an update here when we have that information. We just wanted you to know that we are aware of the issue and are working on correcting it.

Special thanks to Freddy Fuentes and Helmer Zandbergen for pointing this out.

  • I just ordered this certificate on Monday, and did not notice the error. Will the certificate I receive in the mail have this error also? If so can I get a corrected one sent to me please?
  • We're working on that and I suspect we'll have an answer for you on Monday after everyone gets back from Thanksgiving.
  • Hi Tyler, contact your regional service center if the one you receive in the mail does not include the word "Enterprise."
  • Hi folks, just following up to confirm that the word "Enterprise" has been added to the certificate title now.
  • I passed this exam yesterday and would have expected to have received a charter certificate as it's only been available for 2 weeks? Can anyone help or clarify this?

    Thanks,
    Michael
  • Hi Michael,
We do still have the charter member program. Sounds like you should be able to digitally download the certificate that includes the "Charter" language. We're checking into it and someone will get back to you.

  • Hi Krista,
Did anyone manage to find an update on this?
    Thanks
  • Hi Michael,
It was my understanding that someone from customer service was following up with you. Just to confirm, are you trying to digitally download the certificate, and it's not showing the word "charter" on it? Or were you expecting it to arrive in the mail? (A certificate doesn't automatically come in the mail anymore.)
    Thanks
    Krista
  • Hi Krista,
Thanks for getting back to me. I'm trying to download the digital certificate, however only the standard (non-charter) one is showing. I'd like to order printed copies too, but I'd rather hold out to see whether I should have the charter version before ordering.

    Thanks (and happy new year!)
    Michael
  • Hi Michael,
We'll need some additional information from you in order to investigate this. Please contact us directly at mslcd@microsoft.com so that we can work with you to resolve this issue.
    Thanks!

  • I recently passed 70-686 for MCITP and the cert doesn't have "Charter Member" on it either. My MCTS cert for 70-680 does say "Charter Member" Should it be on both?
