9:00 – Milan. It’s Monday morning, the sun is shining and Milan is beautiful. We’re all excited as we make our way to our first event at OverNet. The double-decker bus looks fantastic, our driver is giving it its last wash.
So let’s begin!
9:10 We meet our hosts and I’m immediately impressed: OverNet employs 21 MCTs who are also MVPs. We see Microsoft Press books on display, many of them written by OverNet employees. This partner really has invested in knowledge and skills, the word ‘impressed’ is severe understatement!
10:00 Presentations start, we dive into Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2 and MDOP/Desktop Virtualization. Then Liberty wraps up and details how we build and analyze our certification exams.
My favorite Windows 7 ‘quick demo of the day’ was the one on AppLocker. This enables you to protect users against ‘things they install that they shouldn’t’. This gets cool when you get to specify exactly how you want to ‘lock’ the applications, it is flexible, efficient and effective. Very nice to demo, you can tell people see the quick progress their company could make using this. [We’ll add video later today]
12:30 On our way to our next event at Pipeline. Sitting on the top floor of the bus at the very front, we’re enjoying an incredible view. We are tracking our bus on our laptops using Glympse/Azure and at he same time we get the front window view and see the streets in real life. Note to self, I’ll film this and put that online here soon, the precision is uncanny.
