We normally feature Microsoft Press books on this blog, but this unique Manning title deserves a spotlight:
SQL Server MVP Deep Dives features selections from 53 individual SQL Server MVPs (many of whom are MCPs and/or MCTs). It is quite possibly the most stellar collection of SQL Server intellectual horsepower ever assembled between two covers.
And if you really need another reason to buy it: the authors are helping children affected by war around the world by donating 100% of their royalties to War Child International.
I don’t know much about SQL Server, but I’m buying a copy anyway—it’s a great cause, and now I don’t have to fret about what to get my DBA friends for the holidays this year!
Thanks to MVP/MCT/MCP (and fellow blogger) John Paul Cook for clueing me in, and my appreciation and admiration to all involved for a bringing a great idea to life… I hope we see more community projects like this!
