I wanted to thank those of you who responded to my first post that asked a few general questions about what you like or don t like about the newsletters we send you.  Over the next few weeks and months, I ll pose questions and solicit your feedback.

Today s questions:

* How many newsletters do you receive from Microsoft each month?

- Is that too many/too few/just the right number?

* Do you have a favorite newsletter - and why?

* Would you like to be able to comment or easily ask questions about the stories in the newsletters?

Thank you for your comments!

  • I am an MCT, working full time for a Gold Partner CPLS in Canada, and I receive something like a dozen newsletters each month. Maybe more - I don't count. I do enjoy them when I take the time to read them, but most often I just delete them because it feels like I receive multiple copies of each, and lots of duplicated content. I want to know that a newsletter arrives because it has content I want to read, it has new content, and it is timely. A notification that a trial download of Visio 2007 is available (yesterday) is not relevant to MCTs, CPLSs, MSDN subscribers, or Gold Partners.

Suggestion: one newsletter, with a page for me to check the content I want to see. It arrives on a set schedule possibly, and I always know there's new stuff I should read. Otherwise, I'll just skim born to learn and keep deleting most newsletters.
  • I am Maxim Zinchenko, Moscow MCT & MVP:Exchange.
I receive about 20-30 messages from MS monthly and consider it okay. Some of the number goes to trash bin alas ;) 'cause I'm not really interested in webcasts on MS Navision or a free disk defrag tool.

Favorite letters are "Congratulations with passed Microsoft Certified exam" - one to four letters a month, after I've visited a testing center of course.

And BTW - would you add my MVP/MCT Blog to the right line please! :) http://www.MaximumExchange.ru by Maxim Zinchenko.
    Thank you.

  • I get the MCP Flash newsletter this morning 12/17 and try to sign up for the "Whatever Happened to the MCSE? (and What's This MCITP?)" Live Meeting only have the site/page tell me it is already full! What's the point of having it in the newsletter if it's already full?! Who ever is in charge of the newsletter needs to verify information like this before it is published.
  • Hi Chris - can you try again? We were able to sign up for the Live Meeting without any problems after you made this comment. If you still can't, send me a screenshot (erwinc at microsoft.com)

  • Hi there

    Thanks for the great newsletter.

What would be really great is if I could customise the Newsletter to only show me information relevant to my area of expertise/work. ie I'm a dba and don't need to see information about virtual servers, deploying windows, etc.

I know its being particular but I would just find it more useful.

    Cheers

  • The I receive the emails too late in the day. I always get them when I'm about to sit down to dinner.  I'm on the east coast. Sending them during Business hours and receiving them on my PC is much better than getting them on my blackberry.

  • Was an April newsletter with only one paragraph (about VCBs) a joke or someone pressed send button too early ? :)

  • i recive 5-10 newsletters each month from microsoft

yes i keep newsletter in my favorite

  • Congratulations for this great newsletter,my question;  why is this for German users are not written in German. regards Mike

  • I receive about 20 newsletters a month. I skim them over to see what interests me. What drove me to comment here is the MCP Weekly Flash I just received. There are only a couple of items in it. It used to be several pages of education and certification information. I feel like certification is no longer important to Microsoft based on the lightness of the newsletters I am receiving.
