We ve had a few questions from candidates looking for the English version of the 70-640 exam (TS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuring) on Prometric s web site. Now that the Performance-Based version of 640 is available in English, all registrations for 640 in English must use the 83- prefix rather the 70- prefix.
It’s still 640, with the same objectives detailed in the prep guide, but it uses our Performance-Based Test prefix "83". Please note that 83-640 will appear lower in the list of available exams on the Prometric registration site so don t forget to scroll down to find it.
I just want to say that this roll out method is completely wrong and bias. So, only English speaking people are being held to a different standard. It would have been better if all language versions had been developed, tested, and rolled out at the same time.
Another issue is for people who purchase practice test from companies endorsed by Microsoft, such as Kaplan and MeasureUp. Kaplan’s normal online practice tests are $49, but they pulled the 70-640 in favor of a $159 83-640 package. Now English speaking people get to pay more as well.
I don’t know who’s bright idea this was but those folks need to take some vitamins containing common sense.
