  • Hej M$ team, I like the idea of you giving away vouchers (especially with your "green" bs) but the way you "choose" winners is weird. I see little randomness there. I ve made a charts with day-to-day stats - Click on my Nick. Greets

  • Sherlock Holmes Little Helper you have waaay too much time on your hands. Seriously!
  • Hehe Nah, It took me 10 minutes (Oo + unix programs). It s just one of these sleepless night...
  • Wow Sherlock Holmes Little Helper, I am impressed. :) Honestly I don t know how the pattern should be intepreted. I use the random function in excel to pick 3 people in the pool, and the list of people are organized by the date they commented. Maybe the sample is not big enough thus looks like there is pattern? If we do this over a course of a year, it should even out - just a thought from the stats class I took way back... :)
  • Sherlock Holmes Little Helper - Of course the early commenters are more likely to win, they have more chances to win. Compared to the people who entered 5 days later, it s like they entered 5 times instead of 1. Your data is assuming every person only had one entry, which isn t true. Joanne - It won t even out over the year for the reasons I just described. Someone who enters on day 1 would have 365 chances to win and is therefore more likely to win than someone who enters on day 364.
