America s Adopt a Soldier is giving laptop computers to 22 soldiers at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. The laptops are pre-loaded with Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007. These soldiers have used computers before to some extent, but have limited experience with the current versions of software.
America s Adopt a Soldier is looking for at least six volunteers to help these soldiers get started with training on the Office suite using these laptops. Ideally, the volunteers will have experience delivering training on Office products in a classroom environment. The training would consist of two-hour introductory sessions for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, using the first few modules of MSL s e-learning curriculum. Each session will have an instructor and at least one other person to circulate through the classroom and assist students during the training. After the introductory sessions, the students will continue to work through the rest of the e-learning curriculum independently. Ideally, the volunteers will continue to support the students as they complete their training by answering questions through e-mail.
The training will be conducted on site at Walter Reed, which is in the D.C. area. The laptops are ready and waiting--so the sooner America s Adopt a Soldier can find volunteers to get the training started, the better.
If you have experience delivering training on Office products and are interested in volunteering for this project, please contact Blake Badolato from Microsoft s Federal Sales team. Blake is coordinating the volunteers for this project. When you send him your mail, please include your permission for him to share your contact information with America s Adopt a Soldier.
If you know someone else who is qualified and might be interested, please forward a link to this post.
Thanks in advance for your support!
