Just heard a story that really touched me, I want to share it here!
I just spoke to Chris, an MCT whose son was expelled from school when he was 15 years old. My own parents are teachers and I know how much it mattered to them that I did well in school, or at least did my best. Having your son expelled from school when you are a trainer yourself, ouch, that must have heard.
BUT, the son got some books, studied them, got certified and is now an MCT! He works with his father now and he is very successful.
What a fantastic story about how IT can be a forgiving industry. You could not drop out of school and later on decide to become a doctor, psychiatrist etc. But it is NEVER too late to go into IT as long have you the basic talent and the will to work at it. You can become a trainer and from there the industry, even today, will offer you loads of opportunities as long as you are willing to work at it. I find it inspiring and hope you can share this story with others, and that it may inspire them too. Chris, my respect to you and your son, may you be very successful in training students together!
