Any idea if MSITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator for Exchange 2007 counts as a pre-req to this certification? The website does not give version numbers.

Hi Rick,

I think it's a good plan to finish the 70-680 exam and complete the MCITP EA track.

If you have som experience with Hyper-V my suggestion is that you after that go for the 70-246 and 70-659 (the 659 exam can be taken in place of 70-247 exam until 31 Jan 2013)

Passing those two exams grants you the MCSE Private Cloud.

The server 2012 track to MCSE isn't published yet but I assume it will be 70-417 (MCSA Server 2012), 70-246 and 70-247.

Regarding the resources to get started studying for the System Center exams there are some nice links here on the 60days2MCSE forum.

A good start is to go to the Microsoft Virtual Academy, MVA www.microsoftvirtualacademy.com

and the free e-book Introducing Windows Server 2012 blogs.msdn.com/.../free-ebook-introducing-windows-server-2012.aspx

This month (July 2012), I spent a fair amount of time preparing for the new Microsoft Private Cloud Certification Exam 70-246, Monitoring and Operating a Private Cloud with System Center 2012 and I saved links to all the study resources that I used to study and pass this exam as a step-by-step Exam Study Guide for anyone else who may be interested in targeting this exam. Exam 70-246 is the final exam needed to complete the MCSE Private Cloud certification track. The complete requirements for the MCSE Private Cloud track include:

Achieve MCSA:Windows Server 2008

- If you were previously certified as an MCITP on Windows Server 2008, you may be closer than you realize to achieving this certification requirement! MCITP’s were grandfathered into the MCSA program automatically when the new MCSA program was introduced earlier this year. Check your MCP Transcript at http://www.microsoft.com/mcp to confirm.

Successfully pass one of the following exams:

- Exam 70-659 – TS: Windows Server 2008 R2, Server Virtualization (valid until Jan 2013)
- Exam 70-247 – Configuring and Deploying a Private Cloud with System Center 2012

Successfully pass Exam 70-246 (That’s the exam targeted by this study guide!)

Is there a 60 day to MCSE for Server and Desktop Infrastructure??

Hi Veronica,

71-247 result finally arrived and are in my transcript, still waiting for 71-246 result. I called Learninf Services and they told me to wait another week. Since it is marked as "passed" in Prometric base everything should be fine.

Are you working on your MCSE: Private Cloud as part of the #60days2MCSE challenge? Have you visited your forum lately to post a status check or share resources with your fellow IT pros?

I wanted to take a moment and celebrate some recent achievements:

1) Congrats to B2L users ignatenko and mox_monkey on achieving their MCSE: PC titles!

2) Quite a few of you are active on Twitter and I've seen four happy announcements in the past couple of weeks, too. Congrats to @paulsanders87, @vatechguy, @oddmk79 and @haslund on completing their journey toward MCSE: PC!

Rasmus @haslund wrote a blog post today about his experience and the resources he used to get to MCSE: PC. Read it on his blog.

Microsoft MVP and MCT Mitch Garvis also got his MCSE: PC today (although not officially part of #60days2MCSE), and blogged about his thoughts after taking exam 246. Read it here.

While at TechEd North America in Orlando, FL last week, I met and talked to so many IT pros who took advantage of the free exams we offered onsite. Many of them are also participants in the #60days2MCSE challenge. In case you haven't met Michael Bender, he's the 2nd guy from the right, in the blue shirt. That's the man who inspired and spearheaded this great MCP community challenge.

Hi James,

I must admit I always give feedback at the end of the exam (probably 6 so far). Fortunately it is now much easier to do with new 2012 exam (I took one last Sunday and passed and you can mark questions for review during exam...which helps)..

With wrong questions.... There might be reasons for it but I think it would be better to present only good quality questions and do QC before the test on beta users. I think there are still a few things that can be improved even with 2012.

Below is my plan:

I will be doing some exams together with my wife so I decided to tackle more advanced topics first.

1) First is 70-463. Implementing a data warehouse

I hope to take the exam before end of July (and pass it in either July or August). I prepared detailed plan (What I know and I need to know on my blog) www.katieandemil.com/exam-70-463-implementing-a-data-warehouse-with-microsoft-sql-server-2012

2 & 3) I will either take 70-466 Implementing Data Models and Reports with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or take together with my wife 70-461 Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012.

Plan is to take the exams in between August or October.

4) 70-462 is the fourth one. I'm not much of a DBA but it shouldn't be too difficult to learn it.

Plan is to take this exam hopefully with my wife in October/November

5) Final exam. 70-467Designing Business Intelligence Solutions with Microsoft SQL Server 2012.

Plan is to take the exam in November / December.

I believe the dates are realistic and I hope I can achieve the pass mark before my deadlines so I have more time to prepare for next exams. We'll see how it goes.

I'll update my progress after I take first exam.
