I plan to look this over once I have my MCSE:PC. My background in SQL and reporting really point for me to do this along with the PC one.
To me 60 days to MCSE in BI is rather very unrealistic unless someone has lot of prior knowledge and studied new features... and there are a lot of them like SSAS Tabular Model, DAX, MDS, DQS, new SSIS model of deployment and configuration, new SQL features and so on. On top of that the existing SSAS/Multidimension knowledge with MDX and data warehouse knowledge. All of this covered in 5 exams.
But.... I really look forward to that as these are great new tools and features and I hope to pass them soon. My plan is to pass all 5 exams by the end of this year so I have 6 months!
First 2 should be easy, the rest will require a few weeks of studying after work and final one will be a pain for me as I don't have much DBA experience and beta exam I took covered a lot of that.
I will make some plans and put some dates here so I don't get lazy ;)
Regards
Emil
Below is my plan:
I will be doing some exams together with my wife so I decided to tackle more advanced topics first.
1) First is 70-463. Implementing a data warehouse
I hope to take the exam before end of July (and pass it in either July or August). I prepared detailed plan (What I know and I need to know on my blog) www.katieandemil.com/exam-70-463-implementing-a-data-warehouse-with-microsoft-sql-server-2012
2 & 3) I will either take 70-466 Implementing Data Models and Reports with Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or take together with my wife 70-461 Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
Plan is to take the exams in between August or October.
4) 70-462 is the fourth one. I'm not much of a DBA but it shouldn't be too difficult to learn it.
Plan is to take this exam hopefully with my wife in October/November
5) Final exam. 70-467Designing Business Intelligence Solutions with Microsoft SQL Server 2012.
Plan is to take the exam in November / December.
I believe the dates are realistic and I hope I can achieve the pass mark before my deadlines so I have more time to prepare for next exams. We'll see how it goes.
I'll update my progress after I take first exam.
