  • Timeline... 60 days? Haha sometime during tech ed!

Study Hours? Any I can spare.

Lab Time? Will be hand in hand with study hours.

Exam Date? I haven't looked at tech ed exam registration but I am hoping for June 10th.

  • I'll be studying after work, as much as I can without getting burned out. I'm currently scheduled to take the 71-246 beta on Friday, 04/27/2012, so I'm in a bit of a rush.

Since I won't get my results immediately on the beta, I'll assume i failed and continue to study with the intent to take the production exam once it's released. Worse case scenario, I become extremely familiar with SC 2012, so it's a win-win either way.

As far as the plan goes, mine looks a lot like Matt's (since i stole it from his blog). The exception for me is that I have already taken 70-659 (last Saturday), so I won't have to worry about that portion.

    Current plan:

    Review MOC 10750A Teacher's Materials

    System Center Virtual Labs

    Home Labs

    Microsoft Private Cloud Evaluation Guide

The Microsoft Private Cloud: A Technology Overview by David Chappell

  • I'm starting now , I've built "my lab" installing all components except for SCCM 2012 .

I wish to take the exam during teched europe 2012

I'm studying at home , off course , and in any spare time

  • My timeline is from now to MCSE: PC by July 1st.

Personally I got the MCSA for "free", as I already had the MCITP: EA. Need to do the 70-659 after a failed attempt in January, then go for the 247 one.

I'm also tutoring a gang of five on their way to MCSA, aiming at completing that by the end of 2012. First up is 70-642.

We're rebuilding our lab from scratch, adding some more hardware so we can do more of the fun stuff.

Our kind employer let's us devote 20% of work hours to do this, so we're gonna take advantage of that, plus arrange some pizza-night get-together's in the lab.

I'm gonna be teaching one of the courses for the MCSA, but haven't really locked down which one yet, suggestions are welcome! :)

  • I got my mcsa as I'm a mcitp Enterprise messaaging and server administrator

I started studying the installing and configuring  private cloud material

  • Hopefully this summer, before Sept.  Study hours are going to be 25% at work, which is a great place to be, and after hours as well.  Currently wrapping up my MCITP:EA and some deep dive in AD with Microsoft in July as well.  SCOM 2007 is about 20% of my work now, so should be a nice option to have the MCSE for sure.

  • Anyone know where they are holding this class

    www.microsoft.com/.../Course.aspx

10751AB...seems like the study materials for this class would be a good thing to get a hold of for prep...seeing as how there's a dearth of books out there on Private Cloud...

The module list for this course as well is pretty extensive with task items on it that probably can only be completed in a lab environment.

  • My plan of attack for most of these things is just to get in and do it.  I was home schooled throughout high school so the self-study course books are good...I don't do well with cramming or exam cram books...I take a ton of notes...and draw a lot of architecture diagrams by hand, which helps to keep things in memory.  I'm looking into investing in some practice tests, but overall I'm a pretty good test taker so we'll see on that.
